Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy is provided for transparency. It explains what information FableWatch (“FableWatch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. FableWatch is an independent service operated by an individual founder based in Lake Worth, Florida, USA. By accessing or using the FableWatch website or any of its services (the “Service”), you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
FableWatch is an automated monitor that pings a third-party model endpoint and notifies users when it appears to return. FableWatch is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Anthropic. “Claude,” “Fable,” and “Anthropic” are marks of their respective owners. Any news timeline, prediction-market odds, or “what to use instead” content is informational only, is not advice, and may be inaccurate or out of date.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
Identifiers — email address — collected when you join the free waitlist or sign up for any tier. Used to send alerts, service messages, and (subject to your choices in Section 4) promotional messages.
Identifiers — phone number — collected for paid tiers and for one-time-passcode (OTP) verification. With your explicit consent captured when you enable the channel and verify your number, your number is used for SMS text alerts and automated voice calls. Standard message and data rates may apply; consent to autodialed or prerecorded marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase except for the SMS/voice alert features that inherently require it.
Web-push subscription data — if you enable browser push notifications for instant alerts, your browser provides a push subscription endpoint and related keys, which we store to deliver push messages.
Approximate location — an approximate country and/or city derived from your IP address at signup. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Internet/device activity (usage, log, and device data) — including IP address, browser type and version, device and operating-system information, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps, and similar diagnostic and analytics data generated automatically when you use the Service.
Commercial information — records of tiers purchased and transaction status. Payments are one-time charges (not subscriptions) processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe handles the card data and returns only limited information such as a payment confirmation, status, and partial/tokenized identifiers.
Credentials you choose to provide (paid tiers only) — if you use the extraction or automated GitHub feature, you may provide an Anthropic API key and/or a GitHub OAuth token or repository access. These are stored in encrypted form and are used solely to perform the extraction or automation you authorized. You control the scope of access you grant and may revoke it at any time (including by revoking the token at GitHub or rotating your API key) and by contacting us.
Communications — the contents of emails or messages you send us (for example, support, consent, or deletion requests).
You are not required to provide all of this information, but some features (such as SMS/voice alerts, paid services, or extraction/automation) will not work without the relevant data.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government-ID numbers, biometric data, or other special categories of sensitive data, and we ask that you not submit them.
2. Sources of the Information
We collect information (a) directly from you (e.g., your email, phone number, consent, and any credentials you choose to provide); (b) automatically from your device and use of the Service (e.g., IP address, approximate location, log and device data); and (c) from our service providers, such as Stripe (payment status) and delivery providers (e.g., message delivery results).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes, and you grant us a broad, worldwide, royalty-free license to use information you provide for these purposes:
To operate and deliver the Service — including running the monitor, generating and attempting to send alerts (email, SMS, voice, and push), verifying your identity via OTP, and providing any paid features you purchased (including performing extraction or GitHub automation you authorized using credentials you provided).
To communicate with you — including sending service, transactional, and account-related messages (such as alerts, receipts, security notices, and changes to the Service), and sending promotional and marketing communications about FableWatch and related offerings. See Section 5 for your choices regarding promotional email.
For analytics, measurement, and improvement — to understand usage, debug, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
For security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance — to protect the Service and our users, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
For other lawful business purposes — including record-keeping and, where permitted by law, supporting any business transaction described in Section 4.
We may combine information from different sources for these purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, to operate the Service and run our business, we share information as follows:
Service providers and subprocessors — we share information with vendors who process data on our behalf, including: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS and voice delivery), Vercel (hosting, infrastructure, and aggregate performance analytics via Speed Insights), Neon (database hosting), GitHub and Anthropic (only where you have authorized an extraction or automation feature that uses your credentials, and only to perform the task you authorized), and web-push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla and similar) for delivery of browser push notifications.
Affiliates and partners — we may share information with affiliated entities and business partners for the purposes described in this Policy. This never includes your mobile phone number or your SMS/voice consent, which we do not share with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes (see “Mobile information & SMS consent” in Section 5). Mobile opt-in information is used solely to deliver the FableWatch alerts you opted into.
Legal, safety, and compliance — we may disclose information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FableWatch, our users, or others.
Business transfers — if FableWatch is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction or as part of due diligence for it.
Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, some of our data-sharing — for example, sharing usage/analytics data with providers for measurement or improvement, or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising — may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” even though no money changes hands. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, but to be safe we provide an opt-out — see Section 5.
We require our service providers to protect the information we share and to use it only to provide services to us, but we do not control, and are not responsible for, any third party's independent acts, omissions, or compliance.
5. Marketing and Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Promotional email opt-out (CAN-SPAM). When you sign up, you consent to receive both service/transactional messages and promotional email from FableWatch. You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by emailing contact@fablewatch.com. Service and transactional messages (such as return alerts, receipts, OTP codes, and security notices) are part of the Service and will continue even if you opt out of marketing.
SMS/voice (TCPA). You may opt out of SMS alerts at any time by replying STOP to a text message (or as otherwise indicated), and you may withdraw consent to automated voice calls by replying STOP or contacting us. Opting out of these channels may disable the alert features that depend on them.
Mobile information & SMS consent. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS/voice consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used solely to deliver the FableWatch messages you opted into — a one-time verification code and availability alerts (text and/or automated phone call) for the AI models FableWatch monitors, including when a new state-of-the-art model launches. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. See our Messaging Terms.
Push notifications. You may disable web-push notifications at any time in your browser or device settings.
California “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” If you are a California resident (or a resident of a state with comparable rights), you may opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information by emailing contact@fablewatch.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.” We will honor valid requests as required by applicable law and do not require you to create an account to submit one.
Your privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA and similar U.S. state laws). Depending on your state, you may have the right to: (a) know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) request correction of inaccurate information; (d) opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as described above; and (e) not be subject to unlawful discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a separate “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” right.
Your rights (GDPR/UK GDPR — EEA, UK, and similar). If applicable law gives you these rights, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to certain processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Our legal bases are: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), consent (for marketing, SMS/voice, push, and any credentials you provide), our legitimate interests (to secure, analyze, and improve the Service and run our business), and compliance with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
How to exercise rights; verification. To exercise any right, email contact@fablewatch.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline or limit a request where an exception applies or where we are permitted or required by law to retain information. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
6. Security Disclaimer
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, and we store sensitive credentials (such as any API keys or OAuth tokens you provide) in encrypted form. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information. You provide your information at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FableWatch is not liable for any unauthorized access to, alteration of, disclosure of, or loss of your information, or for any breach of security, including any caused by a third party or beyond our reasonable control. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities to the extent and within the timeframes required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, operate our business, and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy — for example, to maintain your account or waitlist entry, send alerts, keep transaction and accounting records (which may be retained for several years to meet tax and legal obligations), comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Credentials you provide for extraction or automation (such as API keys and OAuth tokens) are retained only as long as needed to perform the authorized task or until you revoke them or request deletion, whichever is earlier. When information is no longer needed, we will delete, de-identify, or anonymize it, except where retention is required or permitted by law. You may request deletion at any time as described in Section 5.
8. Cookies & Analytics
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the site and, through Vercel Speed Insights, to collect anonymized, aggregate performance metrics. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell analytics data. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
9. International and U.S. Processing
FableWatch is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to, and its processing in, the United States and other jurisdictions that may have data-protection laws different from those in your country. Where required by applicable law (including for individuals in the EEA/UK), we rely on appropriate legal bases and safeguards for such transfers, which may include standard contractual clauses or the lawful bases described in Section 5.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, children. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service or provide any information to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 within the meaning of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact contact@fablewatch.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on and may link to third-party services and processors (including those listed in Section 4) and to external websites or content. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, availability, security, or content of any third party, including Anthropic, GitHub, payment processors, carriers, and infrastructure providers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy, except where applicable law requires your affirmative consent. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
