OpenAI has canceled the Pro 200 usage reduction it announced in a September 29 email. Its help center now says Pro 200 subscribers who still had the higher Work and Codex allowance keep it, and those already moved to the lower allowance have been doubled to match. Pro 100 and Pro 500 now include twice their previous Work and Codex allowance. Prices stay at $100, $200 and $500 a month. It reverses the change we covered on October 28.

PLAN BY PLAN

Pro 100: twice its previous Work and Codex allowance; its weekly GPT-6 Pro message limit in Chat stays the same. Pro 200: one allowance for every subscriber again, at the higher level, and the lower weekly GPT-6 Pro message limit now matches the higher one. New Pro 200 subscriptions are open again from the pricing page. Pro 500: twice its previous Work and Codex allowance, and still the only Pro plan with GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast. Plus usage is unchanged. Existing subscribers get the new allowance automatically, without waiting for renewal.

WHAT OPENAI'S TIBO SOTTIAUX SAID

In his post on X, Tibo Sottiaux of OpenAI described it as 'doubling all usage limits for all Pro 100/200/500 tiers and Business Premium, effective today', said Work and Codex usage on Pro 200 will stay the same, and said extended limits for dots continue for now, counted separately from default usage. Business Premium is in his post only; the Pro tiers help article does not cover Business plans.

WHO GETS NOTHING NEW

A Pro 200 subscriber who was grandfathered on the higher allowance keeps exactly what they had. For them the news is that the cut scheduled for October 29 will not happen, not a bigger allowance.

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW

The actual size of any allowance. OpenAI describes the plans only relative to each other, and its help center says a larger allowance 'does not guarantee twice as many completed tasks', because usage depends on the model, context, reasoning, tool use and speed mode.
