Pulse Alpha, a stealth model OpenCode added on November 2, ran 681 billion tokens in its first two and a half days and is already 11th of all models on OpenCode's weekly usage board, as of 18:31 UTC on November 4. No lab has claimed it.

THE NUMBERS

OpenCode's usage data counts 6 billion tokens on November 2, the day it went up, 337 billion on November 3, and 338 billion on November 4 by 18:31 UTC, so the third day had passed the second with more than five hours left. 9,264 people have used it. That is close to the debut of Iceman, OpenCode's other unclaimed model, which ran 704 billion tokens in its first three days.

WHAT OPENCODE ITSELF SAYS

OpenCode added it in pull request 61285 in its repository, merged at 20:23 UTC on November 2, as Pulse Alpha Free: a stealth model, free on OpenCode Zen for a limited time while 'the team' collects feedback. During the free period, data sent to it may be retained and used to improve the model, and it is not available in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine or Venezuela. The same change adds it to OpenCode's stealth list, which is why its usage page shows the lab as Unknown. Our own sweep logged opencode/pulse-alpha-free at 22:24 UTC that day. The models.dev catalog lists a 1,048,576-token context window, up to 131,072 output tokens, text and image input, reasoning and tool calls, and closed weights.

WHO MADE IT

Nobody has said. Guesses posted on X and in write-ups since November 3 range from Qwen to Tencent's Hy4 to a Z.ai GLM model, and none comes with a vendor statement, so we name no lab.

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW

Who makes it, how large it is, how long the free run lasts, and whether it is the same model as any stealth release elsewhere.
