Claude Max and Team plans now come with monthly API credits: $100 to $500 a month

Anthropic is adding monthly Claude Platform API credits to its Max and Team subscriptions: $100 a month on Max 5x, $200 on Max 20x, and up to $500 a month pooled on Team, according to its help center article updated October 7. Max starts at $100 a month, so on Max 5x the credit matches the subscription price. Anthropic says it is rolling the credits out over a few days.

THE CREDITS

- Max 5x: $100 a month - Max 20x: $200 a month - Team: $20 per Standard seat and $100 per Premium seat, pooled into one balance capped at $500 a month (Anthropic's example: three Standard and two Premium seats get $260) - Discounted Team plans for nonprofits and scientists get the same per-seat amounts - Free, Pro and Enterprise plans are not eligible

WHAT THEY COVER

The Claude API (Messages and Message Batches), the Console Playground, Claude Managed Agents and the Claude Agent SDK, on any available Claude model. At Haiku 5.5's short-prompt price of $0.10 per million input tokens, $200 pays for 2 billion input tokens. The credits do not cover interactive Claude Code, extra usage in Claude, Claude Code or Cowork, or Claude on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry.

HOW IT WORKS

The subscriber (on Team, an Owner or Primary Owner) links one Claude Console organization under Settings > Billing on claude.ai, and can't switch it later without contacting support. New subscribers can claim after seven days on the plan, and no card is needed. The credits refresh each billing cycle, don't roll over, and are spent before any purchased credits. When they run out, API requests stop unless the organization has bought credits or turned on auto-reload; nothing is charged to the Claude plan.

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW

Whether this is permanent: the help article gives no end date.
