Two commits in T3 Code, a public open-source repository from the GitHub organization pingdotgg (pingdotgg/t3code), carry the trailer "Co-authored-by: Fable 5.5 <[email protected]>". Both are dated October 17 and belong to pull request #20424, a fix for how the web app handles Clerk sign-in on unsupported browser origins. It was merged on October 20 at 04:36 UTC and went out in that day's nightly builds.

WHAT IS SOURCED

The commits themselves, read on GitHub. A model name at [email protected] is the co-author line Anthropic's Claude Code adds when it writes a commit, so a model identifying itself as Fable 5.5 was writing code in that repository on October 17. @LuminaBench spotted it.

WHAT IT FITS

Reports that partners have early access. @lyraxana said on October 15 that partners had Fable 5.5, and on October 18 that they had a second, stronger checkpoint. Both claims came from one account and are unconfirmed; these commits are a public artifact consistent with them. Anthropic has not announced Fable 5.5, and neither OpenRouter's catalog nor models.dev lists it as of this morning.

WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW

The release date. @kimmonismus, quoting another account, says it ships today; that is unconfirmed. Nor do we know whether "Fable 5.5" is the final product name or how the T3 Code contributors got access. ArtificialWatch's watch on Fable 5.5 fires the moment an API id appears.
