Claude Opus 5 is live — we detected it at 16:51 UTC and had alerts out 61 seconds later
2026-07-24 · Claude Opus 5 · by ArtificialWatch
Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 went live on the public API today. Our checkers saw the id appear at 16:51:33 UTC, confirmed it on the next 60-second sweep, and the alert blast went out at 16:52:34 — sixty-one seconds from first sighting to inbox.
Every subscriber alert landed: 95 of 95 emails delivered, no failures, no retries needed.
The market had this one wrong twice. The "Thursday" leak (July 23) collapsed from ~80% to 6% the day before, and the book had settled on July 29-31 as the likely window. It shipped on the 24th regardless — which is the whole argument for watching APIs instead of trading on rumors: the only signal that has ever been right on time is the model answering a real request.
Opus 5 is now on the board as live, and the radar has moved on to what's next.
