Cognition released Devin Review 2.0 on November 5 and made it the default review tool when working with Devin. It says a typical pull-request review now costs $0.25 to $0.75.

COGNITION'S OWN NUMBERS

  • 82% cheaper per PR since August, about 5x, from a better mix of models and changes to its agent harness.
  • 1.5x faster: median review time 94 seconds, down from 139.
  • More bugs found per PR after the cuts: 1.32 on average, up from 1.22.
  • About 80% of PRs cost less than a dollar to review, including every push. Each bug that gets fixed costs about $2.25 on average across customers.

WHAT IS NEW

  • Incremental reviews: a second run on the same PR reviews only what changed.
  • Automatic reviews on every PR or every push, filtered by draft status, paths, branches or labels, with a per-PR spend limit.
  • Devin Review Ultra, a more thorough and more expensive effort level for code like billing or security.
  • Custom Reviewers (beta): your own checks, such as safe database migrations, run inside Devin Review.
