Gemini 3.5 Pro leak points at August 12–14 — the same model has already missed three dates

The claim: Gemini 3.5 Pro is targeting an August 12–14 launch, with Gemini Omni Pro shipping alongside it. Extensive partner testing. Multiple A/B tests spotted across platforms. A rumoured 2M-token context window. Major upgrades to coding, reasoning, autonomous agents and UI generation.

Three notes before anyone plans around that date.

First, the date narrows in reporting rather than widening. The circulating leak says August 12–14; the reporting behind it lands on August 12 specifically. Treat the range as the leak hedging, not as a window Google has given anyone.

Second, and this is the part that matters: Gemini 3.5 Pro has already missed at least three predicted launch dates. Google said at I/O in May that it was in internal use and would roll out "next month". June passed. July 17 passed. July 24 passed. We covered the model surfacing on LM Arena for roughly fifty minutes on July 31 and then vanishing. A fourth date from the same class of source deserves the prior that record implies.

Third, we could not source "Gemini Omni Pro" at all. Not on Google's blog, not in the Gemini API changelog, not in any reporting we could reach. The Omni line does exist — Omni Flash turns up in third-party model comparisons — but a Pro tier launching alongside 3.5 Pro is, as far as we can tell, a single unsupported line on a leak card. We have armed a watch entry for it anyway, because arming costs nothing and missing costs everything, but nobody should treat it as reported.

What Google has actually confirmed is narrow and worth stating exactly: 3.5 Pro is in partner testing and will be broadly available when ready. No API model id, no pricing, no quotas, no AI Studio or Vertex availability, and no confirmation of a launch in any particular week.

Grade: rumor on the date and the specs. The partner-testing status is the only first-party fact in this post.
