A commit pushed to a public GitHub repository on October 7 credits "Gemini 4 Argon" as its co-author, using the address Google's Antigravity coding agent signs its commits with ([email protected]). It is the first public trace we have seen of Argon doing real work outside Google since the model was announced on September 30 for trusted testers only.
WHAT IS SOURCED
The commit is 7b8c281 in RandalSchwartz/BlocSignal, an open-source Dart and Flutter library, timestamped 04:37 UTC. It fixes a listener leak, changes 4 files (+280, -14) and ends with "Co-authored-by: Gemini 4 Argon <[email protected]>". Earlier commits in the same repository carry the same agent address under other model names, including "Gemini 3.7 Flash" and "Gemini 3.8 Flash (High)", so Antigravity appears to sign each commit with the model that wrote it. @Mr_Salio first pointed to the commit on X.
WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW
How this developer got access. Google said Argon would reach cyber defenders and trusted testers through its Fairwind Program before paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers, so this may be a tester account rather than a wider rollout. A separate claim from @LuminaBench that Argon "is now showing up in Google Cloud" is unconfirmed: Gemini 4 is not on the Gemini API model list our watcher reads, on OpenRouter or on models.dev. Google has given no public date.
